A Friend

One of the best thing about being a mom is, you are also a friend. You get to build a friendship with your kids. They play with you and laugh at jokes with you. They listen to you and you would also listen to them. While growing up kids tells their moms all their secrets, even if it just a little one. I think a mom is a child's closest friend because mothers knows their kids better than anyone else. Right now my son is at the age where he is starting to know the meaning of friendship and what having friends is like. He is always telling me things like, mommy you are my friend and my buddy. When I ask him why I am his friend, he would say because I play with him and listen to him talk. As of right now I am probably his best friend because he is only 3 years old and I am the person who he is around the most. A mom can be supportive of her kids in the same way a friend supports a friend. Showing support could come in different ways, such as going to a friend's football game. When you attend their games, you are there cheering for them and is there to support them whether they win or lose. When someone is sad or need a shoulder to cry on, they always have a friend that they can count on to go to. Some times a child need their mom to be a friend rather than a mom. Moms would just have to figure out which part they have to play depending on the situation they are in. A mom does all the things that a friend could do and probably even more.

A Teacher

When you are a mom, you are also a teacher. A mom is like a teacher because she has to teach her kids all sort of things while they are growing up. Some things that a mom might teach her kids is how to tie their shoes or how to use eating utensils. Children learns things from their mom the same way they would from a school teacher. Moms also teaches their kids how to count and help them learn the alphabets to prepare them for school. Moms teaches their kids to prepare for things that they are unaware of, like helping you learn how big the world is. She teaches you your cultural backgrounds helping you find your identity and knowing who you are and from you are from. At a young age a child would not learn as much thing if their moms were not there to teach them.

A Caretaker

When you are a mom, you also have the job as caretaker . The reason why i said a mom is a caretaker is because you automatically take the responsibilities for all the duties you perform. Some of these duties includes: taking care of the children when they are sick by giving them the right amount of dosage for medicines or taking them to the doctors. A caretaker has different meanings to it depending on how you use the term, but one meaning for it is that you are a person who takes care of another person. The people that you take care of is your children. What a mom does to take care of her kids is, preparing meals for them and keeping them clean by bathing them. A mom also dresses her kids and takes them shopping. Another meaning to the term caretaker is, a person who is in charged of maintenance of a building. That also applies to a mom because she takes care of the home by keeping it neat and clean. She picks after the kids and cleans up their messes. She also makes sure everything is child safety. So being a mom could a caretaker in many ways just by the duties that she performs.

Being a Mom Introduction

Do you know what the roles of being a mom are? When you are a mom you have to play all these different roles, like being a caretaker or a teacher. You are a caretaker because you have to always be there for your children needs, such as cooking to feed them and cleaning up after them. You have to give them medicines or take them to the doctor whenever they are sick. Moms have to keep children immunizations up to date because it keeps the kids from getting disease such as chicken pox and hepatitis. A mom is teacher because they have to teach their kids how to interact with others, how to behavior, and be obedience. A mom will always be constantly teaching new things. Moms are also constantly going through different changes like aging of the kids and their different attitudes. At different ages children starts to act different and their attitudes changes, whether they are in their terrible 2's or their teenage years. Before I became a mom myself, I was more of the party type of girl. I was always partying, clubbing, staying out late, and hanging out with friends because it was fun. I now have a three year old son, and I think I am a more responsible person than I was before because every thing I do is more for my son and not for me. I only go out on occasions because I rather stay at home and being a mother to my son. My whole personality has also change and so has my language because I have to watch what I say around my son because he picks up on the words so fast. I'm always teaching him things like how to speak two languages. I speak in english and repeat the words again in cambodian. I just also taught him how to spell his name, dad, and mom, then rewarded him for spelling it right. I know that at my teenage years it was hard for my mom to try and talk to me and deal with me because I always did the opposite of what she didn't want and I started to not listen to her as much anymore. So being a mom isn't so easy, you have so many tasks to do as a mom. I think being a mom is a full-time job and a very hard one too.
